Elior North America is committed to supporting the communities where we live and work. We do this by partnering with various local and national organizations that align with our mission to deliver innovative culinary experiences that are uniquely tailored for each customer and local community that we serve.
At Elior, we care about our team members, clients, communities and the people that we serve each day. It is our corporate responsibility to reach beyond our kitchens and identify opportunities to positively impact people across the country. Together, we can make a difference.
Kick Hunger Challenge
Did you know that 1 in 6 people in the United States faces hunger each day? This accounts for more than 42 million Americans struggling daily. Food provides nutrition, wellness and supports the overall wellbeing of a person. It brings people together and nourishes their mind, body and spirit so they can perform at their best. As a culinary management company, we work to feed people each day with a great tasting meal and positive experience. We now have an opportunity to impact our local communities and feed the hungry.
Elior North America is proud to partner with The Kick Hunger Challenge and work to fight hunger across the country. This is a cause that allows us to support the communities where we live and work.
We have challenged our teams to donate their time, food or money to local food banks. Clients, guests and local residents can join us in our efforts to fight hunger and positively impact our local communities by volunteering at a local food bank, hosting a food drive or raising funds to kick hunger.
Let’s work together to fight hunger one meal at a time!
Meals on Wheels America
Our Valley business unit and Elior North America have partnered with Meals on Wheels America to support our mission to end senior hunger. For more than 50 years, we have supported communities and seniors across the country with nutritious meals. Our teams make a difference in the lives of seniors with a friendly face, a warm smile and a compassionate heart. We partner with Meals on Wheels programs across the country as we work to make a difference in people's lives by helping at-risk seniors maintain their independence and enhance their lives with quality meals in a safe, welcoming environment.
The network of local Meals on Wheels programs feeds nearly 2.5 million seniors each year with a combination of home-delivered and congregate meals. Anyone can get involved and help this amazing organization. To get involved, visit www.americaletsdolunch.org to learn more about the Meals on Wheels America, Let’s Do Lunch initiative. You can sign-up to volunteer with a local program and directly impact seniors in your community.
As a food-focused, chef-centric company, Elior North America is committed to developing the next generation of chefs in our local communities. We are proud to partner with Careers Through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP), which works with disadvantaged high school students around the country to position them for success by providing culinary training and job opportunities, workplace fundamentals, and college advising and scholarships. Through our partnership, Elior chefs mentor these promising students and help provide them with the foundation needed to become future culinary leaders.
Hurricane and Disaster Relief
The United States experienced one of the worst hurricane seasons in our country’s history beginning with Hurricane Harvey in late August 2017, followed by Hurricane Irma in early September 2017 and most recently Hurricanes Jose and Maria. Entire communities were devastated leaving people without homes, electricity, food and supplies.
These catastrophic events inspired our teams to do what they do best. By using their sense of service, our people mobilized quickly to provide much needed aide to the areas hit hardest by these storms. Our teams from Valley and Preferred Meals worked tirelessly to pack and ship shelf-stable meals for the residents in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico producing and shipping more than 4 million meals in three months.
Additionally, our local Southwest Florida teams played an integral role in helping their local community, accounts and first responders with much-needed shelter, food and basic supplies. The team provided nearly 20,000 meals in eight days for their community.
